                                          Hackney Carriage 6-a-side Competition - Sunday 27th August


We look forward to a feast of cricket at the inaugural Hackney Carriage 6-a-side competition later this month. Starting at 10.30am, 8 teams do battle in 2 leagues with at least 3 games each. Not too late to enter a team and to enquire contact Mat Kilbey at mkilbey1@aol.com



Results/Fixtures


A great win for the 1st XI on Saturday at promotion rival contenders Orpington CC. Chasing 199 the 1st's reached the target with an over to spare, winning by 4 wickets. Tim Dawes excellent spell captured 3 for 29 from 15 overs with Henry Walker also bagging 3 wickets. Rob Donnelly steered the 1's to victory with 46 not out, Tim Dawes scoring 37 and Sam Lockwood 33. The 1st's promotion push continues.....

The 2's lost to Minster CC at the Club but remain in second spot in the league. Chasing 166 the 2's were bowled out for 98.

The 3rd's lost to New Ifield CC by 7 wickets. The 3's scored 92 all out which was not enough against the top league side.

The 4's won at Old Colfeians CC by 21 runs. Sam Chattaway scored 50 exactly for the second week running and Alan McCawley struck 42 not out as the 4's posted 182 for 6. Pete Newman took 4 for 16 and Adam Brenchley 3 for 37 with debutant Luke Brenchley taking the final wicket to seal victory.

A great knock of exactly 100 not out by Casey Jerrom and 72 from Sam Lockwood was not enough to defeat Lordswood CC in the Development League at the Club on Sunday. The guys scored 226 for 5 from 40 overs but Lordswood won by 7 wickets.

Matt Lewns made it 2 Sunday centurions with 101 retired not out in the defeat at Eynsford CC. The Sunday 1st's scored 195 for 4 but lost by 6 wickets. Well done Matt.
